Great food, friendly people. One of our favorite lunch spots, great pizza slice selection.
Nearly an hour later we received a pizza, that had also been put through the broiler; and near hour old jalapeno poppers (which were not palatable) that had been sitting on the counter where I could see them. When we left we were offered a soda, which I declined as too little too late. For nearly $30 for a pizza and poppers I was done.
Christmas Eve and I'd been baking and cooking all day so we decided to get takeout. This was the first time we tried Michel Angelo's. The staff was very pleasant and our order was delivered in a timely manner. Our calzone was very good and could have easily fed 4 people. The antipasto salad was huge and had so much Italian meats. Best I've had in quite a while. We will definitely be using them again.
This all changed when I felt was lied to. I called for a pizza and was told 20 minutes. Like always for pickup I arrive a few minutes early (5) with my 2 year old son in tow. I was told five minutes, which was the proper time. I happily waited.
Amazing food, excellent service, have been going to this establishment for 10+ years and I have never been let down, all with very reasonable pricing!
As someone who has worked in the food industry; Disney and a local pizza establishment. I understand things go wrong. If I was told that it would be another 45 min - 1hr I would have either cancelled my order or come back. Instead I felt that I was lied to by a trusted establishment and forced to wait for a product that was not up to their standards. It is hard to tell people when you cannot produce what is expected, but I know there were a lot of unhappy people waiting, like me, that will not return from the dishonesty that was displayed.
I'm sorry to write this review, because even now I miss their great pizza. However deceit from a company will not allow me to visit them again.
Updated Review: I have always loved Michaelangelo's pizza. From their old location in Cromwell to the new one in Rocky Hill it was a staple of my childhood. When I moved back to the area one of the first places to visit with my son was Michaelangelos Pizza. Our visits in were 'Guy's Night' and special.
Amazing chicken parm! Delivery is fast and the guy that comes to deliver came to my job and bought furniture from me. We order on a weekly basis. Nom nom nom!! Wish they were open later sometimes.
While I was waiting I observed a few issues. The entire staff kept looking at the pizza oven. Having eyes I noticed that the temperature kept dropping... Having a toddler with me who wanted to be held I walked around the waiting area trying to keep him calm.
